This will be a fun rally for those
interested in astronomy.
The Comanche Springs Astronomy Campus is located in
sparsely populated western Texas where the absence of city
lights makes for a spectacular “seeing”. Please check out the
facility website at: http://www.3rf.org/sciences-2/comanche-springs

We will open our rally on Sunday
with a social hour followed by a pot luck. So, plan to bring your
favorite dish.
The program during the day will include number of
activities such as bird and other wildlife viewing, a science
hike, a talk about the history of the cattle trails that
passed through the area, viewing the sun through a solar
telescope, and, of course, an open technical discussion about
your Roadtrek.
Evenings will be a great opportunity to observe the
night sky through one or more of the several telescopes on the
campus. Everyone
will have a chance to view sky.
The facility offers electricity for
a maximum of 22 rigs.
Two of the sites are close and could be used by
someone having trouble walking distances. Please let me know
if you need one of these sites. There is water, but not at the
camp sites and a small limited use dump station. It is
recommended you arrive with full fresh water and empty gray
and black water tanks. Wi-Fi is available all
around the campus. Showers are available.
Because of the natural environment,
NO PETS are allowed on campus. We are researching pet
boarding options in the area. See Pets boarding information at
this link.

campus and camping area, click here.
With the busy schedule and the
location, all meals will be included. This includes 3
continental breakfasts; 2 lunches, and 2
dinners. Sunday is the Pot
Luck.
Registration will be open when the
Jan.-Feb. newsletter hits mail boxes. Please watch this site
for information and
registration.

website and the rally site: http://www.region7rally.org/ for more details.
